Support the Church with Escrip! It’s easy and free!
Every time you shop at Safeway you could be giving to the
church. When you shop at participating merchants, such as American
Airlines, Budget Rent A Car, Chevron, Eddie Bauer, Office Max, Payless
Shoe Source, Spiegel, Nature's and Wild Oats Natural Markets, and soon,
Safeway, you can help support The Swedenborgian Church of Puget Sound.
It's easy and costs you nothing. Just take a few minutes to go on-line
to www.escrip.com (NOTE: No "T") and click on "enroll now" to register
your Safeway Club Card, credit and debit cards and Chevron card. Every
time you shop at one of the participating merchants using your
registered card, a percentage of the purchase will be given to the
church. It's easy, private, secure and a great way to support the
church. Click here: www.escrip.com then click "enroll now" to register!
Food Needed - Especially Now!
Please continue to bring cans of food or other non-perishable
items to church each week. Even one item can make a difference to
someone who doesn't have enough to eat. Members of our own congregation
are being helped by this program. What is left over goes to Hopelink
food bank in Kirkland. Just one can makes a difference to someone who
doesn't have enough to eat.
Job Jar
We still have opportunities available!
Our church needs help in a whole bunch of areas. If everyone
did something it would make things much easier on the few who do a lot
and on the minister. So, here is a Job Jar full of fulfilling things to
do. We need someone to clean the closet. You will receive the
Swedenborgian Medal of Honour for this. We need computer folks. Anyone
who is computer savvy that can come into the office once in a while to
help us figure things out and fix little things that don’t work. Change
the letter board board on Saturdays. Set up on Sundays. Clean up on
Sundays.
Every Call Makes a Better World.
Fred Davis introduced us to Working Assets Wireless It’s a
cell phone company that gives 1% of whatever your bill is to a
progressive nonprofit organization. Fred is satisfied with the service
and so is Rev. Eric. The long distance service of the church office has
also been switched to Working Assets. What does your 1% go to?
Environment, Peace and Human Rights, Economic Justice, Freedom of
Expression Media, Civil Rights, International Relief and Development,
Health, Children and Family, Gay Rights, Rights and Welfare of Animals.
How do you sign up? You can check out their web site at
